The Virgo Foundation is a charitable organisation founded by actor Wale Ojo whose aim is to promote African culture, traditions and heritage. The organisation is thoroughly committed to defeating the collective amnesia which surrounds ancient African history. The lion is the undisputed master of the animal kingdom and until he (or his people ) recite his tale by moonlight to generations yet to come his glorious and magnificent stories would only be told by hunters from foreign lands who seek to destroy him and hence his legacy.

Did You Know?

Did you know that the man who started the movement to abolish slavery was an ibo prince. His name was Oluadah Equiano. Together with a Ghanaian/English aristocrat by the name of Ignatius Sancho they started a movement called Sons of Africa. They took their case to Granville Sharp of the Quakers Society in England in 1783 who in turn approached a gentleman by the name of William Wilberforce who presented the case for slavery abolition to the British parliament.,
Did you know that Sara Forbes Bonnetta otherwise known as Omoba Aina was the only black god-daughter of Queen Victoria who ruled England from 1837 till 1901. Princess Aina was a native of the Egbado people of the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria. She was born in 1843 in the village of Oke Odan into the royal Egbado family. During a slave raid by King Ghezo of the Dahomey kingdom in 1848 she was captured by the Dahomeyan army and was intended to be killed. She was rescued by Frederick E. Forbes of the Royal Navy who convince King Ghezo to give her to Queen Victoria. Forbes then renamed her Sara Forbes Bonnetta after his ship,the HMS Bonetta. When Queen Victoria met her she was so impressed by the young girl's intelligence and royal gait that she had her raised as her god-daughter in the british middle class.,
